Rachel Cotto was an Elementary School Teacher in the NYC Department of Education for seventeen years. Spanning that same period, Ms. Cotto had over 25 grants funded by Donorschoose.org for everything from art supplies to furniture and consumable workbooks for her students. During those years, she also sat as an active member on the School Leadership Team, Safety Committee, Data Inquiry Teams for ELA and Math, and was the United Federation of Teachers Chapter Leader. She has earned degrees from Saint Francis College (BS in Elementary Education), Mercy College (MS in Education) and Fordham University (MS in Education – Leadership and Supervision). She was part of the first cohort for the Fordham University Educational Leadership Program Enhancement Project (later known as ELPE and GSE) an intensive seven-month program to earn a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Supervision.
