The dances were a mix of modern dance and classical ballet. We traveled to Spain, Cuba and parts of Africa. The director of the show also served as the host. Before each performer danced the host gave a brief history of the dances that our students would see. He was very intriguing and captured their attention.
Our students were impressed with a specific performer who was close to our students age and danced to an Afro-Cuban song. They were amazed at how well the dance groups worked together to be in sync with each movement. They also loved the Spanish dance called the Flamenco so much so that our third graders asked if they could learn Flamenco next year!
We sang, clapped, and danced. It was a SPECTACULAR SHOW!!!!!!
